Lucia first describes curating to be difficult because of the difficulty filling in a space of an exhibit that would give off the right feelings and the full engagement in things that had to be more collective. She thinks it's important that projects are artistic, if they are not, she does not want to curate them. And by artistic, Lucia means the projects should be functional by the project itself being somewhat of a great impact. Lucia does not look at projects that are just social, but more social science. Research is very important to her because it leads one thing to another and can make major changes. The projects can't just have the representational portion. Curators divide the exhibition and most projects are collaborative where they negotiate and combine ideas to work on one project. Curating a project personally changes the way Lucia researches and the way she thinks. How curating alters the work of an artist is that curating brings in social interaction; more of the relationship between the artist and its participants.
